The birth process is one of the most stressful events of our lives. Considerable forces come to bear on the baby from the contracting uterus as it passes down the birth canal. Some distortion to the babies head can occur and improves after birth by suckling and crying. However in many cases some compressive strains in the head and body remain and can be further aggravated by falls as a toddler. Without treatment to correct this, strain can remain deeply rooted in the growing child and normal health patterns may be compromised. These compressive strains often can be the cause of many baby and child health problems. All interventions in the birth process means the baby and mum must be looked at as a priority. Forceps, ventouse, caesarean section, foetal distress via being stuck, excessively stressed and maternal fatigue are all factors in the child and mum retaining abnormal stress and strain. |

Treating
Babies and mums after birth can have exceptional results as the babies
body has no fixed postural patterns therefore making it easier to treat,
as one is not having to challenge the compensations in the body that are
present as we build and grow. Mums are in a fragile state after the process
so some gentle techniques to ease tension in the pelvis and other areas
can be very beneficial. See more about this in the
pregnancy section. |
